About The Position

The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department’s overall environment by helping Members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensures produce meets or exceeds company quality standards.

The clerk inspects, rotates, and stores deliveries; keeps sales-floor displays stocked, fresh, neat, and clean; maintains and organizes reserve stock; and follows guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products. The position also supports inventory and order processing, cleans and sanitizes produce equipment and areas, and ensures produce signage and pricing are accurate. Team members are expected to follow club policies, support a safe and positive environment, work collaboratively, and provide friendly service. Other duties may be assigned, including work in other departments as needed.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

• Assist Members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe handling tips, and helping Members locate products.
• Inspect, rotate, and store produce deliveries, ensuring received items meet or exceed company standards.
• Rotate produce on the sales floor to maintain freshness and variety; keep cases and displays stocked, neat, and clean; and remove products unsuitable for sale.
• Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and keeping storage organized and condensed daily.
• Follow established guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, and expired products.
• Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
• Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
• Generate signage and perform price checks as needed; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
• Follow club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
