About The Position

A Produce Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market handles, prepares, stocks, and merchandises farm-fresh produce to support product quality, freshness, availability, and customer satisfaction. The role requires strong product knowledge and the ability to present produce according to department schematics while maintaining accurate tags and pricing. Clerks assist customers with questions in a friendly and helpful manner and work as part of a team in a fast-paced grocery environment. Team members under age 18 are restricted from using knives other than safety cutters, using ladders, operating garbage or cardboard compactors, operating motorized or electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks), and working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods. The position requires standing, walking, bending, and climbing throughout the workday, lifting and maneuvering heavy objects, and walking up to five miles during an eight-hour shift. The stated pay range is $17.20–$23.20 per hour, with pay determined based on applicable experience and qualifications.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Be dependable and reliable, and able to work a flexible schedule that changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Be able to lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds from 4 to 72 inches, for distances up to 3 feet, for between 10 and 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 pounds, requiring force up to 35 pounds, for up to 2 hours and distances up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 5 miles in an 8-hour shift.
Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.

Responsibilities

Stock the Produce department, including presenting, facing, filling, and organizing products according to department schematics.
Ensure accurate product tags and pricing.
Properly stock and rotate merchandise in the Produce department.
Trim, water, and merchandise produce to maintain fresh, high-quality offerings.
Maintain proper inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability.
Answer customers’ questions in a friendly and helpful manner.
Adhere to safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
