About The Position

Hy-Vee is seeking a Produce Clerk to help keep the produce department stocked, fresh, and inviting while providing friendly customer service. The role involves checking product freshness, replenishing and rotating merchandise, managing supply needs, checking in deliveries, preparing products, and keeping the work area clean and safe. The position is suited to someone who enjoys staying active and working as part of a team. Training is provided.

Requirements

Commitment to Hy-Vee's mission and a genuine passion for helping customers.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions carefully and with attention to detail.
Basic math skills, including simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
Clear communication with customers and coworkers and a positive team-oriented approach.
Ability to learn and apply sanitation, food safety, and department procedures.
Less than a high school diploma or equivalent experience is accepted.
Six months or less of similar or related work experience; training is provided.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers, assist with their needs, and provide friendly service.
Review merchandise for freshness and appearance; replenish and rotate products to maintain quality.
Ensure adequate product is available, develop or follow production lists, and anticipate daily department needs.
Check in products, put them away, and review invoices as needed.
Prepare, finish, and replenish products as necessary.
Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean, neat, and safe.
Remove trash promptly and assist with general department upkeep.
Order products and supplies and price products as needed.
Answer customer phone calls promptly and helpfully.
Follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and department and company guidelines.
Assist with other tasks and special projects as needed.
