About The Position

The Produce Clerk supports the Produce department at Sprouts Farmers Market by handling, preparing, stocking, and merchandising farm-fresh produce to provide a high level of customer service and satisfaction. The role requires product knowledge and preparation skills, maintaining product presentation, facing and filling displays, organizing items according to department schematics, and ensuring tags and prices are accurate. The clerk rotates, trims, and waters merchandise to preserve freshness and quality, supports inventory control and product availability, and answers customer questions in a friendly and helpful manner. Team members under 18 are restricted from using knives other than safety cutters, using ladders, operating garbage or cardboard compactors, operating motorized or electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks), and spending prolonged periods in coolers or freezers.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a changing, flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
Be able to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
Be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday.
Be able to lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds, from 4 to 72 inches, for up to 3 feet, for between 10 and 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 pounds, requiring up to 35 pounds of force, for up to 2 hours and up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 5 miles during an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Stock, face, fill, and organize Produce department products according to department schematics.
Ensure product tags and pricing are accurate.
Properly stock and rotate merchandise.
Trim, water, and merchandise products to maintain fresh, high-quality offerings.
Maintain appropriate inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability.
Answer customer questions in a friendly and helpful manner.
Provide customer service and maintain product knowledge and preparation skills.
Follow safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
