About The Position

A Produce Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market handles, prepares, and merchandises farm-fresh produce to support customer service and satisfaction. The role requires maintaining product knowledge and preparing produce, stocking and presenting products according to department schematics, and ensuring accurate tags and pricing. The clerk also rotates, trims, waters, and merchandises products; maintains inventory control to support freshness and availability; and assists customers in a friendly and helpful manner. The position is in a fast-paced, team-oriented retail environment. Team members under 18 are restricted from using knives other than safety cutters, using ladders, operating garbage or cardboard compactors, operating motorized or electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks), and working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.

Be able to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
Be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday.
Be able to lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 lbs. from 4 to 72 inches, for distances up to 3 feet, for between 10 and 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs., requiring force up to 35 lbs., for up to 2 hours and a distance of up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 5 miles in an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Stock the Produce department, including presenting, facing, filling, and organizing products according to department schematics.
Ensure product tags and pricing are accurate.
Stock and rotate merchandise, and trim, water, and merchandise produce to maintain fresh, high-quality offerings.
Maintain proper inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability.
Answer customer questions in a friendly and helpful manner.
Follow safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
