About The Position

The Produce Clerk provides excellent guest service through activities in the produce department. The role prepares and displays produce, maintains product freshness and department sanitation, assists with deliveries, and helps guests with product information, preparation, and weighing. The clerk also communicates guest requests and temperature breakdowns to management, performs front-porch duties to help ensure no noticeable wait, and completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and 25 lbs. constantly.
• Ability to read and understand information and directions.
• Effective communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests.
• Prepare produce for display on the sales floor.
• Stock, price, rotate, and display products according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain the freshness and quality of produce for sale.
• Assist with unloading product deliveries.
• Help guests with product knowledge, preparation, and weighing.
• Maintain sanitation standards in the backroom, cooler, and sales area.
• Communicate guest requests to management.
• Communicate temperature breakdowns to management.
• Perform front-porch duties to ensure “no noticeable wait.”
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
