About The Position

The Produce Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market handles, prepares, stocks, and merchandises farm-fresh produce to support product freshness, availability, and customer satisfaction. The role requires maintaining product knowledge and presenting produce according to department schematics, including facing, filling, organizing products, and ensuring tags and prices are accurate. Duties also include rotating, trimming, and watering merchandise; maintaining inventory control; and responding to customer questions in a friendly, helpful manner. The position operates in a fast-paced team environment and requires adherence to safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations. Team members under 18 are restricted from using knives other than safety cutters, using ladders, operating garbage or cardboard compactors, operating motorized or electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks), and working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible, changing schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
Be able to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
Be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday, and lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds from 4 to 72 inches, for up to 3 feet, for between 10 and 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 pounds, requiring up to 35 pounds of force, for up to 2 hours and up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 5 miles during an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Stock and merchandise produce, including presenting, facing, filling, and organizing items according to department schematics.
Ensure produce tags and pricing are accurate.
Properly stock and rotate merchandise, including trimming and watering products.
Maintain fresh, high-quality product offerings and proper inventory control to maximize freshness and availability.
Maintain product knowledge and product preparation standards.
Answer customer questions in a friendly and helpful manner.
Follow safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
