About The Position

The Produce Assistant Manager supports the Produce Manager in overseeing daily department operations, maintaining product quality, providing excellent customer service, and helping achieve sales and profit goals. In the Produce Manager’s absence, the Assistant Manager assumes responsibility for department management, including supervising staff and ensuring compliance with company standards.

Requirements

Exceptional customer service skills.
Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing needs, especially during high-volume or stressful periods.
Ability to read and perform simple math problems.
Willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

Greet customers, provide exceptional service, and assist with product inquiries.
Train, mentor, and support new hires; ensure team members follow department procedures.
Manage scheduling, product sheets, and product ordering.
Oversee the department in the Produce Manager’s absence, including staff supervision and disciplinary actions.
Receive, verify, and stock merchandise; maintain accurate invoices and logs.
Keep displays stocked, neat, and appealing; follow product rotation and pricing procedures.
Prepare, package, label, and price products accurately.
Operate equipment safely and effectively.
Monitor compliance with sanitation, safety, and company policies and follow health and safety regulations.
Support space management plans and control damaged goods according to policy.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
