About The Position

The Produce-Floral Manager leads department inventory management, pricing integrity, and other operational processes requiring significant attention to detail. This fast-paced role calls for efficiency, effectiveness, and a passion for excellence to deliver results. The manager supports The Fresh Market’s mission to make everyday eating extraordinary by providing guests with helpful, timely service and maintaining high standards for produce, floral, and prepared offerings.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hotels, or general business.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Proven ability to deliver an exceptional guest experience while achieving performance goals.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Basic proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Food safety certification, or ability to obtain certification after hire.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree in business, retail management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in grocery, fresh food retail, hospitality, or a high-volume specialty retail environment.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems and financial reporting.
• Bilingual skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and proactively assist them in a friendly manner, providing accurate and timely service recommendations and accommodating special requests.
• Manage order guides and ordering deadlines, and reduce shrink and damage.
• Receive and stock goods properly, following rotation standards when replenishing product levels.
• Direct teams in handling, slicing, and preparing specialty produce items, fruit and vegetable platters and trays, and Convenient Meal Solutions throughout the day.
• Maintain quality product levels in accordance with The Fresh Market standards.
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members on the job and through the company’s internal training platform.
• Help ensure excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner.
