You could be an asset to our Premium Team! This position is responsible for the procurement of Aftermarket categories. In this role, the specialist leads the development and implementation of category strategy focused on suppliers and cost. The specialist will provide subject matter expertise for the categories as it relates to procurement markets, supplier capabilities, competitive supply chain options and cost drivers within the global supply chain landscape. This role works collaboratively with sales, product, operations and finance teams for flawless execution of the category strategy.

Requirements

  • University degree in administration or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of global sourcing experiences ideally for automotive aftermarket segments and or products and parts for automotive, industrial or retail segments.
  • Bilingualism, spoken and written, English and French;
  • Expert in drawing reading;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook;
  • Has excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Has excellent negotiation skills;
  • Organization and respect of deadlines;
  • Ability to work in a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior global procurement experiences in Asia and or Latin/South America will be a great asset.
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards software (an asset).

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and implementation of procurement strategy (focused on suppliers, procurement markets and cost) for Aftermarket product categories.
  • Plan, organize and manage the cost strategy of aftermarket products and components.
  • Establishes stable and strong long-term relationships with major suppliers by maintaining constant communication with each of them as well as with other departments.
  • Develops deeper understanding and knowledge of product categories leading to in-depth expertise on cost drivers
  • Leads category focused supplier development activities; seeks alternative sources and procurement markets to drive business growth with existing and new customers.
  • Submit requests for quotes to a multitude of suppliers for the daily prices of internal customers.
  • Responsible for comparative market analysis and is on the lookout for market prices.
  • Evaluates and approves the costs of raw materials from internal and external sources as well as exchange rates.
  • Leads the development of cost models for the product categories.
  • Ensures the efficiency of the company's databases of all costs and inventories, both in analysis and automation.
  • Coordinate the timelines of the product development department by adjusting their list of priorities.
  • Follow up and manage several procurement-related projects to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the Demand Planning team in the verification of new sales forecasts.
  • Offer support and leadership to the procurement department if any major issues occur in the supply chain.
  • Any other duties required.
