Procurement, Materials & Logistics Coordinator
About The Position
We are seeking a Procurement, Materials & Logistics Coordinator to support purchasing, inventory management, supplier coordination, and logistics operations for a growing product-based organization. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing the full procurement cycle—from purchase order creation through inventory planning, supplier management, freight coordination, and invoice reconciliation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced using SAP MM in a manufacturing, distribution, or construction materials environment. Position Overview The Procurement, Materials & Logistics Coordinator serves as the key liaison between suppliers, warehouses, transportation providers, operations, and finance. This role ensures materials are available when needed, purchasing activities are executed efficiently, logistics costs are controlled, and procurement records remain accurate and traceable.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Approximately 3–6 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, logistics, inventory, or materials coordination
- Hands-on experience using SAP MM
- Experience managing purchase orders, suppliers, inventory, warehouses, and transportation providers
- Knowledge of Goods receipts
- Knowledge of Invoice verification
- Knowledge of GR/IR reconciliation
- Knowledge of Material replenishment
- Knowledge of Inventory management
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and follow-through
Nice To Haves
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial distribution, construction materials, building products, or wholesale distribution
- Experience managing supplier performance and logistics costs
- Experience working with international leadership teams or global supply chains
- Process improvement or continuous improvement experience
Responsibilities
- Create, manage, and track purchase orders using SAP MM
- Monitor supplier lead times and material availability
- Negotiate pricing, freight terms, lead times, and service levels with suppliers and carriers
- Maintain purchasing records and procurement documentation
- Monitor inventory levels and replenishment requirements
- Support forecasting and inventory planning activities
- Ensure material availability to meet operational demands
- Track shortages and coordinate timely replenishment
- Coordinate activities between suppliers, warehouses, transportation providers, operations, and finance
- Schedule inbound deliveries and manage transportation logistics
- Oversee relationships with carriers, warehouses, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery issues, and service levels
- Review goods receipts, invoice discrepancies, and GR/IR reconciliation
- Maintain purchasing traceability from order through receipt and invoice validation
- Support accurate inventory and financial transactions within SAP MM
- Analyze purchasing, freight, and logistics costs to identify savings opportunities
- Recommend process improvements to strengthen procurement discipline and supply chain efficiency
- Communicate supplier risks, delays, shortages, and cost deviations to management
