About The Position

Performance Foodservice, PFG’s broadline distributor, serves local customers including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. Its team supports customers with operational advice, menu development, product selection, and business strategies. The Procurement Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting procurement work and projects at Performance Food Group. The intern will learn how procurement teams manage supplier relationships, pricing, contract terms, service levels, and inventory, while contributing to day-to-day activities and cross-functional business projects. The internship runs June 2027 through August 2027, is in person in Houston, Texas, and pays $22 per hour. Interns will own a real business project, receive a dedicated supervisor and mentor, engage with senior leaders, attend professional development and networking events, participate in volunteer opportunities and the Corporate Run, and present a final project.

Requirements

Must be located within commuting distance of Houston, Texas.
Must be a rising junior or rising senior.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong customer service skills and business acumen.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

Rising senior.
Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Responsibilities

Learn how procurement teams manage vendor and supplier relationships.
Support purchasing activities involving pricing, contract terms, service levels, and inventory tracking.
Assist with day-to-day procurement activities, customer service, and business projects.
Partner with teams across Sales, Operations, Finance, and Human Resources.
Present project findings and recommendations to business leaders.
