About The Position

Performance Foodservice is PFG’s broadline distributor, serving local customers such as independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. Its team supports customers with advice on operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies.

This internship runs from June 2027 through August 2027 in Springfield, Massachusetts, and is in person. The Procurement Intern will gain experience supporting procurement work, including supplier relationships, purchasing, pricing and contract terms, service levels, and inventory management. The intern will support day-to-day activities and business projects, collaborate with teams across the organization, and present project findings and recommendations to business leaders. The internship includes a real business project, a dedicated supervisor and mentor, exposure to senior leaders, professional development, volunteer and networking opportunities, and a final project presentation.

Requirements

• Must be located within commuting distance of Springfield, Massachusetts.
• Must be a rising junior or rising senior.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service skills and business acumen.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Learn how procurement teams manage vendor and supplier relationships.
• Support purchasing activities involving pricing, contract terms, service levels, and inventory tracking.
• Assist with day-to-day procurement activities, customer service, and business projects.
• Partner with teams across Sales, Operations, Finance, and Human Resources.
• Present project findings and recommendations to business leaders.
