About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking a candidate to lead one of its Preferred Distribution Suppliers on the Centralized Distribution Team. The role develops, supports, and executes sourcing strategies based on historical and forecasted spend, responds to supply-and-demand challenges and marketplace conditions, and aligns procurement activity with business objectives. The successful candidate will help prepare awards and create or review electronic purchase orders in accordance with specifications, requirements, work statements, and terms and conditions. The position aims to leverage company spending, use resources effectively, promote best practices, and improve supplier performance, with an emphasis on supplier engagement and relationship management. The role works with internal and external stakeholders, including supply chain management, supplier quality, manufacturing, engineering, program management, distribution suppliers, and original component manufacturers. The successful candidate communicates effectively, builds mutually beneficial relationships, advances their knowledge of procurement compliance, and supports new initiatives with a continuous-improvement mindset. This is a fully remote position, with occasional onsite attendance for team, supplier, or program meetings. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or at least 6 years of procurement-related work experience; a government-contracting environment is preferred.
Experience in a large, complex, multifaceted electronics manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with the defense aerospace industry and regulations, and an understanding of procurement's role in complex industries.
Experience buying across various electronics commodities.
Demonstrated ability to resolve contractual and supplier performance issues.
Experience in contract management and negotiation.
Strong business acumen and excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
Ability to interface successfully with various leadership teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
Willingness to advance procurement-compliance knowledge.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of FAR and DFAR regulations and flow-down requirements.
Knowledge of ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulation) and EAR (Export Administration Regulation).
Desire for continuous improvement.
Familiarity with the Oracle purchasing system.
Technical background, including ability to read drawings.
Professional supply chain certification such as C.P.M., C.P.S.M., or P.M.P.
Typically, a bachelor's degree and 6 years of work experience, or equivalent experience.
