About The Position

The Australia Awards Solomon Islands (AASI) Procurement and Logistics Officer coordinates the delivery of all program events, travel, and logistical activities. This role ensures value-for-money procurement, effective asset and document management, and compliance with quality, financial, and risk management standards. The Officer also builds and maintains strong relationships with DFAT, partners, and service providers to support effective program delivery and inclusive, ethical outcomes. The role involves working closely with DFAT Post Honiara and a range of stakeholders, including awardees of Australia Awards Scholarships (AAS), Australia Awards Pacific Scholarships (AAPS), and Australia Awards Fellowships (AAF), Short Course participants, Australian and Pacific host institutions, Australia Global Alumni, the Solomon Islands Australia Alumni Association (SIAAA), and partners across the private sector and civil society. This work aligns with the Australia Awards Global Strategic Framework and the Global Monitoring and Evaluation Framework.

Requirements

  • Three to five years’ experience and/or qualifications in business administration, event management, human resource management, and/ or project management or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of office operations, including procurement and basic accounting/ finance practices, with strong administrative skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Solomon Islands Pidgin.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise workloads, work independently and collaboratively, and deliver quality outputs within agreed timeframes.
  • Experience with, or the ability to quickly develop knowledge of, DFAT strategies, systems, and processes.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • High level of personal initiative, with innovative and analytical thinking, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to capacity development, teamwork, and building constructive and effective working relationships.
