About The Position
The Processor verifies and processes information for mortgage loan approval by reviewing loan application files and submitting completed files for settlement. The role reviews residential loan application data for completeness and compliance with establishment standards, verifies borrower and property information, prepares application forms, and coordinates the file through underwriting and closing.
Responsibilities
- Review residential loan application files to confirm application data is complete and meets establishment standards, including mortgage type and amount, borrower assets and liabilities, and length of employment.
- Recommend denial of loans that do not meet standards.
- Contact credit bureaus and employers by phone or in writing to verify information accuracy.
- Prepare loan application forms using a computer.
- Contact specified companies to obtain property abstracts, surveys, and appraisals.
- Inform the supervisor of discrepancies in title or survey information.
- Submit mortgage loan application files for underwriting approval.
- Type and mail approval and denial letters to applicants.
- Submit approved mortgage loan files to the mortgage loan closer for settlement.
- Record loan status data using a computer, including counts of new applications and loans approved, canceled, or denied.
