About The Position

The supervisor is responsible for oversite and quality of all assigned patient service centers and embedded team members. This includes but is not limited to all elements of the clinical laboratory operations from point of patient reception, specimen collection, specimen processing, transportation and reporting for all entities owned or affiliated with Interpath Laboratory. Interpath Laboratory is a family-owned and operated clinical and anatomic pathology laboratory serving communities across Oregon, Washington, Nebraska, and Idaho. Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent.
  • Demonstrated proficiency as a professional communicator both verbally and in writing.
  • No less than two years successful experience as an Interpath Laboratory Phlebotomist/Processor or other related assignment.
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated AI use and application in a professional capacity.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Eligibility for necessary security clearances.
  • Ability to effectively communicate constructive feedback in a professional and effective manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Forward thinking about how to create efficiency and thus save company resources.
  • High aptitude and commitment for accuracy and being detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and coach a team for high performance.
  • Ability to delegate tasks and functions appropriately.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, use of multiple databases.
  • Strong meeting facilitator.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 Years successful pre-analytical supervisory experience.
  • Experience as a lead or trainer in the pre-analytical side of business.

Responsibilities

  • Builds efficient work schedules that balance client, Interpath, and team member needs. Provides back-up processing and courier coverage around the region when necessary due to people shortages. Occasionally, resolve issues during evening and weekend hours.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage approved budget using available data from accounting office. This includes but is not limited to thoroughly reviewing all expenses (invoices) for the assigned region.
  • Educates and inspires the team to understand and buy-in to Interpath culture of appreciation and quality. Participates in quality projects as directed or initiated.
  • Visits designated sites to regularly engage with and monitor team performance.
  • Facilitates team members receiving the training, development, and resources they need to effectively perform Interpath services.
  • Ensures timely completion of job performance evaluations of direct reports by monitoring productivity, attendance, quality, and other important job competencies.
  • Serves as lead problem solver of issues that arise in assigned operational areas and effectively implements adjustments as needed to ensure client, Interpath, and team member barriers to high quality work are removed or minimized. Effectively utilizes HC1 or other means of documentation of issues when appropriate.
  • Makes timely requests for people resources using Interpath requisition process. Efficiently screens resumes and candidate applications using Interpath applicant tracking system for Interpath aligned skills and characteristics.
  • Facilitates screening phone calls with candidates and schedules and leads in-person interviews with those that advance through hiring process due to alignment with Interpath values.
  • Proactively leads coaching and development conversations with new and existing team members.
  • Effectively monitors supplies for assigned sites and locations to ensure reasonable (not excess) levels of resources are available to team members. Oversees ordering through Interpath ordering system – ensuring purchasing procedures are followed.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all stakeholders in alignment with Interpath’s mission and values.
  • Establishes and communicates most efficient courier routes that ensure specimen stability on way to laboratory for processing.
  • Professionally monitors and responds to emails, text messages and phone calls in a timely manner.
  • Maintains compliance with all company policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Understands and adheres to HIPAA policies, procedures, and regulations to assure patient confidentiality.
  • Attends work regularly; arrives on time.
  • Other duties may be assigned as the needs of the company and position evolve.
