About The Position

The position will greet and act upon individual client requests during the course of the day by receiving and processing requests and providing information related to the Environmental Health Division. Perform administrative support for the Environmental Health team. Direct individual clients on how to navigate through the Division’s application processes and divert to other departments or other divisions that are involved in any environmental health services. Screen and review application submittals for accuracy for the Onsite Water Protection and Food and Facilities program areas. Attention to detail is critical for this position. Relay requests to individual staff, written and oral correspondence, file documentation and track and maintain adequate office supplies for the division. Strong active listening and communication skills to direct and serve clients is a required daily activity. Collection of appropriate fees and reconciling daily financial reports for the Division Other duties as assigned by the EH Director II

Requirements

  • Ability to work well with the public, other departments, clients and fellow staff
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of environmental health rules, policy and regulations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least two years of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office
  • Ability to make detailed data graphs of environmental health services
  • Strong active listening and communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Munis, EnerGov and TrackIT software is desired but not required.
