CMP/Wet/YE Process Technician - Night Shift

Texas Instruments•Sherman, TX
•Onsite

About The Position

At Texas Instruments' Sherman, Texas facility, the Process Technician serves as a Process Steward for advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes, supporting the site's expansion. On D Shift, the technician is responsible for production stability and makes real-time decisions to help ensure wafer quality, process stability, and yield. The role focuses on CMP and Wet processes in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The technician independently executes CMP recipes and oversees Wet Process sequences, monitors process parameters, confirms validated recipes are in use, and uses metrology tools to identify defects and potential yield loss. The role provides process data and observations to Process Engineers for root-cause analysis, responds to abnormalities and alarms using SOPs and decision trees, and documents process status in the MES for shift handovers. Work is performed with a strong emphasis on safety, precision, data integrity, analytical rigor, and clear communication. The position requires a 12-hour compressed work schedule and flexibility to work day or night shifts, including one weekend shift and holidays. The posting describes the position as D Shift/night-shift operations, while also requiring flexibility for day or night shifts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • One of the following: 2 years of semiconductor experience as a Technician, or 8 years of non-semiconductor or military Technician experience.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour compressed work schedule.
  • Flexibility to work day or night shifts, including one weekend shift and holidays.
  • Ability to interpret complex metrology data and identify patterns.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain high standards during night-shift operations.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely report process deviations to engineering teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong data compilation and visualization skills using Excel, Tibco Spotfire, Power BI, or equivalent tools.
  • 3–5 years of process engineering technician experience in a high-volume, high-precision, automated 300 mm semiconductor fab, including lot-hold disposition, process tuning, and SPC monitoring.
  • Hands-on process execution experience using AMAT, Ebara, TEL, DNS, or KLA systems.
  • Experience writing metrology and defect-inspection recipes on KLA and AMAT platforms on shift for troubleshooting and new-product inspection setup.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and execute complex CMP recipes using AMAT and Ebara platforms to ensure precise planarization.
  • Oversee Wet Process sequences using Celleste, TEL, and DNS equipment, adhering to chemical concentration and etch-rate requirements.
  • Monitor real-time process parameters, including slurry flow, endpoint detection, and rinse cycles, to prevent process excursions.
  • Ensure automated systems run the correct, validated recipes for high-volume production.
  • Use KLA and AMAT metrology tools to monitor surface topography, particle counts, and defect density.
  • Analyze metrology data to identify potential yield loss before it affects production.
  • Provide data and observations to Process Engineers to support root-cause analysis of process deviations.
  • Resolve process abnormalities and system alarms using SOPs and decision trees.
  • Document process status, health, and yield trends in the MES to support shift handovers.
  • Execute process experiments in partnership with process engineering to determine root causes, enhance yield, improve cycle time, and reduce holds.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits designed to support well-being at work and in life.
  • Extensive health coverage.
  • Wellness programs.
  • Competitive compensation.
