CMP/Wet/YE Process Technician - Night Shift

Texas Instruments•Sherman, TX
•Onsite

About The Position

At the Sherman, Texas facility, Process Technicians serve as Process Stewards for advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes. The role is responsible for the stability, quality, and yield of CMP, wet process, and yield-engineering operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment. On D Shift, the technician makes real-time decisions to maintain production stability and ensure wafers meet quality standards. The position emphasizes a quality-first approach, including anticipating process deviations, maintaining precise process control, and accurately documenting each process step. Technicians execute and monitor validated recipes, use metrology tools to identify potential yield loss, and provide process data and observations to engineers for root-cause analysis. They also resolve process abnormalities using SOPs and decision trees and maintain clear MES documentation for shift handovers. The role offers a structured path to technical mastery and the opportunity to contribute to the expansion of semiconductor manufacturing in North Texas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Either 2 years of semiconductor experience as a Technician or 8 years of non-semiconductor or military Technician experience.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour compressed work schedule.
  • Ability to work day or night shifts, including one weekend shift and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong data compilation and visualization skills using Excel, Tibco Spotfire, Power BI, or equivalent tools.
  • 3–5 years of process engineering technician experience in a high-volume, high-precision, automated 300 mm semiconductor fab, including lot-hold disposition, process tuning, and SPC monitoring.
  • Hands-on process execution experience with AMAT, Ebara, TEL, DNS, or KLA systems.
  • Experience writing metrology and defect inspection recipes on KLA and AMAT platforms for shift troubleshooting and new product inspection setup.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and execute CMP recipes using AMAT and Ebara platforms.
  • Oversee wet process sequences using Celleste, TEL, and DNS equipment, following chemical concentration and etch-rate requirements.
  • Monitor real-time process parameters, including slurry flow, endpoint detection, and rinse cycles, to prevent process excursions.
  • Verify automated systems are using correct, validated recipes.
  • Use KLA and AMAT metrology tools to monitor surface topography, particle counts, and defect density.
  • Analyze metrology data to identify and intercept potential yield loss.
  • Provide data and observations to Process Engineers to support root-cause analysis of process deviations.
  • Use SOPs and decision trees to resolve process abnormalities and system alarms.
  • Document process health and yield trends in MES to support shift handovers.
  • Partner with process engineering to execute experiments that determine root causes, enhance yield, improve cycle time, and reduce holds.
  • Maintain a quality-first approach through disciplined monitoring, accurate data, and meticulous process documentation.

Benefits

  • Structured path to technical mastery.
  • Culture of Safety First and continuous improvement.
  • Opportunity to contribute to the future of technology in Sherman, Texas.
