Requirements

  • High technical ability and understanding of unit operations is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple work items and set priorities for self and team is required.
  • Must be able to motivate and lead their shift team to execute planned production runs, prepare equipment for maintenance, and perform effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Detail orientation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic understanding of process plant equipment operation and knowledge of applicable Health, Safety, and Environment standards (OIMS).

Responsibilities

  • Operating the Polybutene Unit in a manner consistent with the operating area’s targets.
  • Leading the Polybutene Unit Shift team (field PT) in achieving the overall section goals for each operating area.
  • Achieving Production and Health Safety and Environment targets, Unit Improvement, Operating Efficiency, Cost Reduction, and Personnel Development.
  • Acting as an Emergency Response Communicator during Field emergencies.
  • Working effectively with numerous other departments including Maintenance, Technical, Health, Safety and Environment, and Phillips 66 Petroleum Company.
  • Improving the performance of the shift teams by establishing standards / goals for colleague performance and using effective coaching, coordination, and leadership.
  • Taking necessary actions to meet internal / external customer needs and develop / deliver improvements.
  • Communicating work plans and status within the shift team, to shift relief, Unit Second Line Leader, Process Mechanical Coordinator, and Process Contact Engineer.
  • Ensuring shift teams complete and fully document all required tasks such as regulatory compliance checks, production entry, and maintenance work requests.
  • Obtaining and maintaining Refrigeration Blue Seal or higher.
  • Performing any additional responsibilities as assigned.
