About The Position

Join a small collaborative team that’s improving how King County Parks operates behind the scenes to better serve communities across the region. As a Process Improvement Analyst, you’ll take on rewarding challenges such as improving complex workflows, strengthening technology adoption, and supporting the administration of key IT systems that Parks staff rely on every day. In this role you will collaborate with Parks teams and vendors to identify operational challenges, document business needs, streamline processes, and support implementation of practical technology solutions. You’ll also contribute to data analytics and reporting efforts that support data-informed decision making across the division. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving operational problems, improving systems and workflows, and helping teams successfully adopt new tools and processes. As the Parks division continues expanding its process improvement and technology capabilities, you’ll have meaningful opportunities to grow your analytical expertise and lead cross-functional initiatives that support efficient, equitable, and user-friendly services. This position follows a hybrid work model, blending remote and in-person work. The Performance, Data & Analytics & Process Improvement (PDAP) team is a small, collaborative, and high-energy group dedicated to advancing the Parks Division’s mission of stewarding parks and open spaces that inspire our community. We partner with teams across the division to improve operational effectiveness, service delivery, and accessibility through data analytics, continuous improvement projects, IT systems support, and process enhancement initiatives. Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to identify workflow inefficiencies and lead process improvement efforts across diverse teams.
  • Experience implementing new technology systems, supporting system integrations, and coordinating with vendors or technical partners.
  • Experience performing data analysis and developing dashboards, performance metrics, and data visualizations using Power BI or similar platforms to support data-informed decision-making.
  • Experience planning and coordinating or leading projects involving process changes, system improvements, technology adoption and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical audience, including facilitating discussions, training users, or supporting change adoption.
  • Skill in translating complex business needs into functional requirements, system specifications, and actionable design recommendations.
  • Knowledge of equity centered practices and experience applying Equity & Social Justice (ESJ) principles in process design, service delivery, or data analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting or administering enterprise or program specific IT systems, including configuration, permissions, data maintenance, or lifecycle management.
  • Experience leading or contributing to organizational change management efforts, including communication planning and user adoption strategies.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, human centered design, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience working in government, public agencies, or mission driven organizations that serve diverse communities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement solutions to operational challenges by evaluating workflows across the division and leading process improvement efforts across Parks teams and programs.
  • Document business requirements and use cases and develop accurate current and future state workflows to guide system and process changes.
  • Provide training, guidance, and technical assistance to staff to support user adoption of new workflows, technology platforms and tools.
  • Partner with business leads and vendors to review, analyze, configure, test and implement new or enhanced system functionality to meet operational needs.
  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of division IT systems and serve as a systems administrator for key platforms, ensuring consistent, effective operations.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, metrics, applications, and visualizations that support operational analysis and data-informed decision making.
