About The Position

nLIGHT is currently recruiting for a Process Engineering student to intern with us for the summer of 2026. This internship is a 10 to 12-week program that offers challenging assignments, projects, and career development opportunities to enhance your professional growth. Requirements

• Must be working towards an Engineering degree with specializations in Industrial, Mechanical and Electrical preferred.
• Must have completed (at a minimum) your sophomore year in college.
• Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above to be considered.
• Experience with PCBA layout
• Creative problem solver
• Experience in test software writing and testing
• Well versed in electro-mechanical design
• Proficient in technical writing
• Must be a US Person (US citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual granted asylum or refugee status).

Responsibilities

• Assist in production and prototype builds of pulsed fiber laser systems
• Design and qualify new fixtures for PCBA testing alongside mechanical and electrical engineers
• Create and qualify new software for data collection and analysis alongside systems engineers
• Design and execute experiments related to process optimization and qualification
