About The Position

Givaudan is seeking a Process Engineer to join their manufacturing team at the East Hanover, NJ facility. This role reports to the Process Tech Manager and is responsible for providing technical and automation support within operations. The ideal candidate will have a background in engineering or a related technical field with experience in production facilities, automation, and daily problem-solving. The position involves managing internal non-conformities through investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions, as well as defining and implementing process and formula improvements to enhance site performance in areas like quality, cost reduction, yield, and safety. The role also includes providing site process engineering support, overseeing new equipment startups, and offering operational solutions for various process and formula-related issues. Additionally, the Process Engineer will support site improvement projects such as product transfers, quality enhancements, yield optimization, cost reduction, and capacity expansion.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a science-related degree
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with process/project work
Manufacturing/Engineering technical background, including product industrialization, process engineering, complex machinery and material flow, installations and evaluation of equipment into a growth environment.
Experience working with diverse workforce including technical teams, manufacturing groups, and leadership

Responsibilities

Lead investigations, perform root cause analysis, and lead corrective and preventive actions for internal non-conformities in partnership with cross-functional teams.
Use statistical analysis and problem-solving tools to support investigations and action plans.
Work with the shop floor to implement sustainable solutions using technical data, analytical skills, lab bench, and shop floor expertise to achieve higher performance.
Define process and formula improvements to enhance site performance (quality, cost reduction, yield, safety).
Coordinate resources and partners to ensure change management and project acceptance.
Provide site process engineering support.
Identify, justify, provide scope, and define process requirements for technical process improvement projects.
Oversee startup of new equipment/processes.
Provide operations solutions for formula and process issues such as poor yield, chronic quality issues, excessive processing time, insufficient process controls, high product discard levels, and formula or process-related safety issues.
Provide solutions for the rework of out-of-specification product that requires technical intervention.
Support site improvement projects such as product transfers, quality improvement projects, yield improvement projects, cost reduction, and capacity improvement projects.
