About The Position

S&B is actively searching for an experienced Process Engineer to join our team in Greenville, SC. The Process Engineer independently performs Process design activities for all phases of process development and plant design for a small project or selected segment of a larger project. Must be fully competent in performing all conventional aspects of Process design and application of independent judgment for the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation of standard Process design methods and procedures. Assignments have clear and specific objectives, which require periodic evaluation by a more senior engineer. Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years experience in Process design or related functional area (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).
  • Considerable experience in utilizing various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers and engineers.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Normally requires at least a four-year degree in Chemical Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Meets with clients’ technical staff to develop acceptable processes and control features.
  • Conducts field trips to existing plants to gather operating data and equipment information.
  • Prepares equipment specifications.
  • Communicates process design to client and other design disciplines.
  • Participates in process safety reviews.
  • Prepares operators instruction manuals.
  • Participates in preparation of contract proposals.
