About The Position

The Process Engineer provides technical expertise to maintain a validated operating state, ensure reliability of equipment and process assets, and lead continuous improvement projects for a highly automated and efficient medical device distribution hub. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and ongoing enhancement of the distribution center's technological infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent University degree required; focused degree in Mechanical, Industrial/Systems, Electrical, or Information Systems preferred.
  • Minimum four (4) years of engineering work experience.
  • Experience in warehousing/distribution or production environments in a technical role.
  • Hands-on experience implementing equipment and systems; providing technical direction for asset maintenance, FAT/SAT/IQ/OQ/PQ, and engineering change controls.
  • Ability to be a technical administrator and authoritative user of an MES or WES application, with hands-on computer system validation, MSSQL, and SSRS experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and accurate communication are required, including the ability to write technical and non-technical documents, rationalize conclusions and recommendations, and present information effectively to leadership.
  • Ability to excel in an inclusive work environment that incorporates a diverse range of team member perspectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing or warehousing/distribution.
  • Experience leading multi-functional low to mid-level complexity projects.
  • Process Excellence / Lean certification with evidence of practical application.
  • Knowledge of Trackwise, SAP, Exacta, Windchill, AutoCAD, JIRA.
  • Experience with Rockwell Studio 5000.
  • Experience implementing Cognex vision system applications, scripting, and integration.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct the planning and delivery of technology projects involving WCS, WES, and automated material handling equipment installations.
  • Ensure design specification, qualification, and change control documentation is current, controlled, and approved to meet quality, information security, and safety requirements.
  • Build and complete validation plans, system test scripts, protocols, and reports; maintain and ensure appropriate traceability of records.
  • Develop and deploy performance metrics to provide OEE insights and indicators for equipment and process improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate technology proposals with technology vendors including requirements gathering, design conceptualization, and piloting of proposed solutions to drive justification and adoption of new technologies.
  • Facilitate advancements in equipment reliability with data-driven and risk-based maintenance tactics, while ensuring maintenance performance fundamentals are sustained.
  • Develop training materials for systems and equipment operation and coordinate delivery of those materials to end users and technicians.
  • Conduct root cause analyses to find opportunities that impact throughput, quality, service, or reliability goals; exemplify a service mentality and proactively collaborate with team members in hands-on aspects of asset ownership and problem-solving.
