We are supporting a large-scale, greenfield semiconductor manufacturing facility in Arizona. The project is being executed under an EPC delivery model and includes complex, high-purity water and wastewater systems critical to semiconductor manufacturing operations. The Process Engineer will be responsible for defining, designing, and specifying the water treatment systems supporting a new semiconductor fabrication facility. This role will execute process design development from basic engineering through detailed engineering, support procurement activities, and provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and startup. The ideal candidate has strong experience in industrial or semiconductor water systems and thrives in fast-paced, multidisciplinary EPC environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience in water treatment process design for industrial or high-tech facilities.
  • Strong understanding of EPC project execution and stage-gate engineering.
  • Experience developing PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
  • Ability to work on-site during critical project phases.

Nice To Haves

  • Semiconductor or high-purity water system experience.
  • Experience with greenfield or large capital EPC projects.
  • Familiarity with Arizona environmental and water regulations.
  • Startup and commissioning experience for water treatment systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop process design basis for water treatment systems, including UPW, wastewater, and zero liquid discharge water treatment systems.
  • Perform process calculations, mass balances, hydraulic calculations, and equipment sizing.
  • Define process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and control philosophies.
  • Specify major equipment packages (e.g., RO, IX, UF, degasification, chemical systems, tanks, pumps, etc).
  • Participate in HAZOPs, design reviews, and constructability reviews.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation and CAD disciplines.
  • Prepare and Review vendor drawings, datasheets, and calculations for compliance with design intent.
  • Prepare Requests for Quotes for designed Equipment.
