About The Position

Charter Manufacturing is a fourth-generation family-owned business seeking a Process Engineer Intern to gain hands-on experience supporting manufacturing operations. This role involves root cause analysis, data collection and statistical analysis, and Lean continuous improvement initiatives. The intern will partner with cross-functional teams to solve real-world engineering challenges and drive operational excellence. The internship is structured for part-time hours (15-20 hours/week) during the academic year and full-time hours (40 hours/week) during the summer, located in Saukville, WI, with a start date of May 2027 and a year-round duration.

Requirements

Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore standing.
Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Ability to succeed in a team environment.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Basic Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma Skills
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Work in the draw departments to improve production efficiency, product quality, and assist in the implementation of standards.
Performing time studies, working with operators on how to improve the process, and identifying root causes of production issues.
Process analysis and optimization
