About The Position

American Kraft Paper Industries, a leader in the production of high-quality kraft paper, is seeking a motivated and dedicated Process Control Technician to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about safety and is eager to contribute to a company at the forefront of this industry. We are seeking experienced candidates who have a strong electrical, instrumentation, and process control background that includes “hands on” programming and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years proven experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Strong proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLC platforms
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of all Allen Bradley software
  • Demonstrate basic understanding and ability to troubleshoot AB motion control systems
  • General electrical skills, troubleshooting equipment, wiring diagrams, etc.
  • Interpret data, identify problems, and develop process control solutions
  • Identify process control needs to accommodate new products and/or improve safety, operational, quality, productivity improvements.
  • Must be able to read electrical loop sheets and elementary drawings

Nice To Haves

  • 2 to 4 years manufacturing experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers
  • Program and troubleshoot human machine interface displays
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits
  • Troubleshoot and replace instrument and control devices
  • Troubleshoot and repair process control loops
  • Troubleshoot and maintain plant network systems
  • Diagnose/ test PLC and instrumentation problems, diagnose/test equipment to correct malfunctions and make improvements to accommodate new product and/or improve safety, operational quality, and productivity.
  • Change and develop PLC programs, read/write PLC logic across multiple versions
  • Create/edit HMI systems with factory talk ME/SE
  • Troubleshoot and maintain DC and AC drives
  • Support day to day operations and maintenance
  • Work with maintenance and operations team members to improve process system performance
