About The Position

The Process Technician III is responsible for supporting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving manufacturing processes, automation, and control systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production operations. The Process Technician III assists with process optimization, equipment startups, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role also provides technical support for PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, robotics, and other control-related equipment, while working closely with engineering, maintenance, quality, and production teams.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Automation, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Process Technology, or related technical field
  • Minimum 4+ of experience in a manufacturing, process, or industrial automation environment, including ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • 2+ years of experience troubleshooting automated production equipment and industrial control systems, including working knowledge of PLC systems such as Allen-Bradley, or similar platforms.
  • 1+ year of experience with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, DeviceNet, or similar.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting startup, commissioning, or validation of automated equipment.
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA systems, industrial sensors, drives, motors, pneumatics, and instrumentation.
  • Experience with robotics, machine vision, servo motion control, or advanced automation systems.
  • Knowledge of PID control loops, process instrumentation, and calibration methods.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM

Responsibilities

  • Assist in setup, startup, validation, and optimization of new or modified production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment, control systems, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators, VFDs, servo systems, and associated electrical/pneumatic components, and make minor PLC, HMI, and control parameter adjustments under engineering/change control guidelines.
  • Work with engineers to implement process improvements, automation upgrades, and corrective actions.
  • Analyze trends, alarms, and machine data to identify recurring issues and drive root cause solutions.
  • Train operators and junior technicians on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and basic automation system awareness.
