Performs a wide variety of technical, programmatic, and complex legal clerical duties in support of the District Court Probation Department services and administrative functions. May act as interpreter. Completes all Supervised Probation and Pretrial client file setups, background checks, closing reviews and quality control. Performs District Court Probation Department payroll processing and performs AP monthly processing as well routing of city contract funding to the Treasurer’s Office. Point position for Community Service compliance as well as performs “non-oath” support functions such as: performs Pretrial intake programming/procedures and assists in a limited capacity with low risk level (bench) Pretrial monitoring. Assists Director in policy and procedure creation and education. Assists Director with the hiring of new employees, enrolls staff in mandatory trainings and assists with all travel matters daily. Provides administrative support as needed by the Probation Director and Presiding Judge of District Court. Salary upon hire is in accordance with Skagit County promotion policy. Progressive increases are based on years of service with Skagit County, up to 8 total steps (top step $39.91/hr.). The Probation Services Specialist is range 13 of the Teamsters DC, CH, Park salary schedule.
