About The Position

The Pro Shop Attendant works under the supervision of the General Manager or Assistant Clubhouse Manager. The role is responsible for booking tee times, answering phones, maintaining the pro shop, and monitoring playing conditions on the golf course. Hours vary according to facility needs and include nights and weekends. The starting rate is $15.00 per hour. CPR and First Aid certification training is conducted by the Elk Grove Park District.

Requirements

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.
• Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to at least two years of experience in a pro shop environment.
• Strong understanding of the game of golf, including rules, pace of play, and equipment.
• Good math and cash-handling skills.
• CPR and First Aid certification; training is conducted by the Elk Grove Park District.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones politely and direct callers to the appropriate department.
• Book tee times by phone and answer golf-related questions.
• Monitor pace of play from the clubhouse and, when necessary, take measures to enforce pace of play with gappers and customers.
• Use the tee sheet to ensure tee times are booked correctly and the course is used to its fullest capacity, while monitoring pace of play and taking appropriate actions related to the tee sheet.
• Merchandise the clubhouse, including creating displays, restocking, and pricing items.
• Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the pro shop.
• Perform the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work rules, and safety rules.
• Be familiar with the safe operation of equipment needed to perform required tasks.
