About The Position

As a Pro Sales Associate at Behr, you will work in a Home Depot store as a sales specialist, focusing on professional painting contractors and their unique needs. You will be approachable, organized, and genuinely interested in helping customers. Basic computer skills are necessary for using customer management software. An outgoing personality with a positive attitude and being a self-starter will help you engage with customers and assist wherever needed. No previous experience or knowledge in paint or sales is required, as training will be provided, making this an ideal entry point for a career. You will meet and form relationships with local pros who rely on Behr for excellent products and exceptional customer service, both independently and in collaboration with the Pro Desk staff. You will build relationships with contractors in the store, even if they are there for non-paint items. When an outside representative sends a contractor for paint, you will provide exceptional service by collaborating to identify the right products, mixing paint, gathering necessary sundry paint tools, and ensuring a quick checkout experience, making professional customers feel like they had a dedicated paint store experience. Your work hours will vary based on peak selling times, potentially including weekends, holidays, and shifts extending until 7 p.m.

Requirements

  • Approachable, organized, and genuinely interested in helping customers
  • Basic computer skills necessary to use customer management software
  • An outgoing personality with a positive attitude
  • A self-starter who can jump in and help wherever needed
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Occasional lifting of up to 75 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Prior computer knowledge (for Salesforce)
  • Bilingual skills (many professional contractors speak a second language)

Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Depot Pro Desk and introduce yourself to contractors
  • Get to know contractors, their business, and their needs
  • Maintain relationships and follow up regarding jobs and future needs
  • Work closely with Behr’s outside sales reps and take care of customers in the store, including pulling and tinting orders for pick up
  • Collaborate with customers to get the right products for their needs, mix paint, and collect sundry paint tools
  • Work closely with Home Depot staff, maintaining a professional and helpful vendor relationship
  • Enter all new leads and contacts into Salesforce, the customer relationship management tool
