About The Position
The Pro Sales Associate works in a Home Depot store as a Behr sales specialist focused on professional painting contractors and their needs. The associate builds relationships with local contractors, supports the Home Depot Pro Desk, and works independently and with Pro Desk staff to provide helpful, efficient service. When contractors come in for paint, the associate works with them to select appropriate products, mixes paint, gathers needed painting tools and supplies, and helps them get back to work quickly. The role also involves collaborating with Behr outside sales representatives and Home Depot employees, entering leads and contacts into Salesforce, and following up with contractors about current and future projects. Training is provided; prior paint or sales experience is not required. Work hours vary according to peak selling times and may include weekends, holidays, and shifts extending until 7 p.m. The position may require occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Approachable, organized, outgoing, and positive personality, with an interest in helping customers.
- Self-starter who can identify where help is needed.
- Basic computer skills; Salesforce training is available.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
- Willingness to work variable hours that may include weekends, holidays, and shifts extending until 7 p.m.
Nice To Haves
- Prior computer knowledge.
- Ability to speak a second language, particularly because many professional contractors speak another language.
- Previous paint or sales experience is not required.
Responsibilities
- Support the Home Depot Pro Desk and introduce yourself to contractors in the store.
- Learn about contractors’ businesses and needs, build and maintain relationships, and follow up about jobs and future needs.
- Collaborate with Behr outside sales representatives to serve contractors visiting the store.
- Pull and tint paint orders for pickup, help customers select the right products, and gather needed paint tools and supplies.
- Provide prompt, professional service to help contractors get in and out of the store quickly.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with Home Depot staff.
- Enter new leads and contacts into Salesforce.
