About The Position

Visiting Angels of Tyler is hiring a Private Duty Caregiver to support senior adults and home-care clients throughout the East Texas area, including Jacksonville, Bullard, Troup, Palestine, and Frankston. Caregivers help clients remain or recover at home with dignity, providing individualized assistance and companionship. Visits vary by client. Caregivers must be prepared to respond quickly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. Part-time, PRN, short, and 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts are offered; day shifts are available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
Compassion for vulnerable people and interest in providing meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Provide light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Assist clients with shopping and putting away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, visiting the doctor, and taking walks.
Respond quickly to medical emergencies.
Report health changes or unusual circumstances.
