About The Position

Visiting Angels of Fayetteville is hiring a Private Duty Caregiver to serve senior adults and home-care clients throughout the local area, including Raeford, Silver City, Rockfish, Fayetteville, Dundarrach, and Sanford. Caregivers help clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary by client and may involve personal care, light housekeeping, exercise encouragement, medication reminders, shopping, meal planning and preparation, and mobility assistance. Caregivers must be ready to respond to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. The role calls for competency, compassion, and professional discernment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Manage light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the home, attending doctor visits, and taking walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
Report health changes or unusual circumstances.
