A family based primarily in Florida and spending approximately five to six months in Maryland, from June to early November, is hiring its first full-time Private Chef. The chef will prepare meals for three adults and two children, as well as regular guests and frequent entertaining. The position is live-out, with a housing stipend provided during the Maryland season and a health stipend. The working day typically begins around 11:00 AM with a late breakfast for one principal, followed by lunch and dinner for the household. The chef will also prepare additional proteins and simple meals for weekends and the following morning. The family enjoys relaxed, family-style meals and hosting friends and neighbors, and would welcome occasional elevated tasting menus. Travel with the family is expected to increase over time, and the chef may be invited to accompany them. The family prefers healthy, fresh, Mediterranean-inspired cooking using quality ingredients, including red meat, healthy fats, and fresh local white fish. One principal has macro and calorie targets requiring accurate portioning, nutritional awareness, and thoughtful menu planning. The household avoids seed oils and spicy food. One adult eats gluten-free and does not eat raw tuna; certain European flours or einkorn may occasionally be tolerated. One child is sensitive to eggs and dairy, and pasta and grains are kept to a minimum for the children. Experience with light gluten-free baking, healthy desserts, and creative ingredient alternatives is a welcome advantage. This is a long-term, full-time position, Monday to Friday, approximately 40 hours per week, with a flexible schedule, particularly when entertaining. Weekends are generally off, subject to flexibility around events. Salary is $145,000 to $165,000+ per year depending on experience, with flexibility above that range for exceptional candidates. The family is open to W-2 employment or a 1099 arrangement. The preferred start date is early November 2026. The package includes two weeks of paid annual leave and up to 30 days of unpaid leave for travel, professional development, or training. Days off may be grouped together by agreement. Formal culinary training is required, but extensive private-household experience is not essential. Candidates with strong professional culinary backgrounds who are moving into private service are encouraged to apply; Michelin experience is not required. The family seeks a personable, relaxed, professional chef comfortable working closely with a hands-on household. Clear communication, respectful feedback, flexibility, and consistency are valued. A driving licence is required. Applications must be submitted through the application form with all required documents; applications by email or social media messages will not be considered.
