About The Position

Chartwells K12 is hiring a full-time Chef at Pulaski County Special School District in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Chef directs, coordinates, and evaluates kitchen, food production, and food-service associates. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, either 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; further details are provided during the interview. The fixed pay rate is $18.00 per hour. Online applications are accepted only. The role involves supervising and participating in food preparation, cooking, and service; maintaining food quality, presentation, portion control, serving temperatures, sanitation, and customer-service standards; and managing hourly kitchen associates. The Chef also monitors food use and inventory, receives and inspects supplies, helps develop recipes and menus, and performs other duties as assigned. Because the work is in an educational facility, there may be periods during school breaks when work is not required and those periods are unpaid temporary layoffs. Depending on business needs, year-round work may be required, potentially at a different location during breaks. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
