About The Position

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process of Container Graphics products, from the development stage until it’s in the hands of the customer. Their duties include building production schedules, making sure production processes stay within budgets and deadlines, and reviewing the overall productivity of their manufacturing department. They will also lead and develop a team of production employees to ensure the achievement of manufacturing goals. The Production Manager is expected to drive Container Graphics CS1 mindset and always represent the company in a positive, energetic, and consistent manner. The Production Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Requirements

  • Must have an understanding and experience with the production process for manufacturing liquid and sheet photopolymer flexographic printing plates.
  • Knowledge of production management
  • Understanding of quality standards and health and safety regulations
  • Knowledge of performance evaluations and budgeting concepts
  • Experience in reporting on key production metrics
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and ERP software
  • Ability to read with comprehension, write accurately, listen carefully, and speak clearly
  • Excellent organizational, time-management and leadership skills
  • Strong decision-making skills and a result driven approach
  • Basic knowledge of math fundamentals, including but not limited to fractions, decimals, and basic geometry
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and caliper
  • Knowledge of how to operate hand and power tools

Responsibilities

  • Understand and adhere to the corporate policies and procedures as related to accounting, sales, manufacturing, human resources, and the Quality Management System
  • Plan and organize the material inventory, floor layout, daily production schedule, workflow and manpower required to effectively produce a quality product in a safe and timely fashion according to CGC standards
  • Maintain production staff by recruiting, selecting, onboarding, and training employees
  • Identify the training needs, train and coach production employees in the policies and procedures, safe practices, techniques, skills, and performance standards of their position
  • Write and present accurate performance appraisals in a timely fashion
  • Ensure the quality of the finished product meets our standard before shipping
  • Ensure full and complete implementation of the corporate safety program throughout the department
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, clarifies project priorities, identifies risk, and escalates issues that cannot be resolved
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and housekeeping in work area
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned
