About The Position

The Principal Technical Project Manager will guide the creation and delivery of complex technical projects, driving technology projects directly related to emerging technologies and digital transformation initiatives at BHSF. This role will be responsible for transforming BHSF's core business, aligning with the Strategic Digital Transformation Roadmap, and impacting consumer and patient access frameworks positively. The Principal Technical Project Manager will modernize and elevate specialized resources, priorities, processes, methods, skills, knowledge, and experience to consistently achieve BHSF project goals efficiently. They will manage projects frequently involving multiple technology and organizational domains, varying in size, complexity, duration, risk factors, and expenditure. The Principal Technical Project Manager will be responsible for owning the outcome of all projects, taking personal responsibility for the success and health of the projects under their care, ensuring that commitments are promises kept by building and coordinating all aspects of a project, including detailed project plans, resource allocations, risks/issues remediation, status reporting, and budget management.

Requirements

  • Masters degree.
  • PMI Certified Project Management Professional.
  • 15+ years of equivalent experience in technology project management.
  • Minimum of 10 years in a project management role.
  • Strong technical background with in-depth knowledge of healthcare technology and regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
  • Experience managing large enterprise, multi-year programs with both infrastructure and application components in a large organization of 20,000+ employees, preferably in healthcare.
  • Extensive experience managing concurrent projects of varying complexity and scale.
  • Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Proven experience in leading and influencing cross-functional teams and individual contributors, including senior leaders, stakeholders, developers, engineers, and analysts.
  • Solid technical background with an understanding of software development lifecycle and systems engineering.
  • Minimum Required Experience: 10 Years

  • Scope management, including ensuring the project delivers what was approved and managing scope changes through a formal process.
  • Schedule management, including building and maintaining project plans, tracking progress, and ensuring milestones are met.
  • Budget and cost management, including tracking project costs, vendor costs, labor estimates, and budget variances.
  • Resource coordination across team members, vendors, business stakeholders, technical teams, and support groups.
  • Risk and issue management, including identifying risks early, tracking issues, escalating blockers, and driving mitigation plans.
  • Stakeholder communication, including regular updates to sponsors, leadership, business users, and project teams.
  • Status reporting, including dashboards, RAID logs, executive summaries, and steering committee updates.
  • Meeting facilitation, including project meetings, working sessions, decision meetings, and follow-up discussions.
  • Dependency management across cross-functional teams to ensure required work is completed on time.
  • Vendor management, including coordination of deliverables, timelines, statements of work, milestones, and invoices.
  • Quality and testing coordination, including testing, validation, sign-offs, and acceptance criteria before go-live.
  • Change management support, including communication, training, readiness, and adoption activities when needed.
  • Go-live and readiness planning, including cutover plans, deployment readiness, support plans, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Project closure, including confirming deliverables are complete, obtaining sign-off, capturing lessons learned, and formally closing the project.
  • Lead design and technical trade-off conversations to closure.
  • Deliver executive summaries for assigned projects.
