About The Position

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever. This role involves owning end-to-end product requirements and technical strategy for one or more SSD product lines, from concept through qualification and volume ramp. It requires driving technical tradeoff decisions across NAND, controller/ASIC, firmware, and system-level interfaces, balancing performance, cost, schedule, and customer commitments. The role also involves identifying and pursuing innovation opportunities, including invention disclosures, new architecture approaches, and process or tooling improvements, that scale impact beyond a single program. Leveraging AI to enhance work efficiency and effectiveness is also a key aspect.

Requirements

  • Micron's Data Center SSD roadmap, architecture, and qualification plans
  • Gathering and translation of customer specifications, RFIs/RFQs, and platform constraints
  • Represent Micron in ecosystem and standards forums (e.g., PCIe-SIG, OCP, JEDEC)
  • Coordinate engineering and qualification samples, qualification schedules, and escalation paths
  • Build durable, trust-based relationships with customer technical and program stakeholders
  • Align ASIC, firmware, and systems engineering teams
  • Partner with segment and sales leadership
  • Brief executive and cross-functional leadership on program status, risks, and strategic recommendations
  • Work closely with NPI, Business Operations, and Technical Customer Management (TCM)/FAE teams
  • Mentor other product managers and technical program managers
  • Own end-to-end product requirements and technical strategy for one or more SSD product lines
  • Drive technical tradeoff decisions across NAND, controller/ASIC, firmware, and system-level interfaces
  • Identify and pursue innovation opportunities
  • Leverage AI to enhance work efficiency and effectiveness

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact, representing Micron's Data Center SSD roadmap, architecture, and qualification plans directly to strategic hyperscale and OEM customer engineering and technical leadership.
  • Lead the gathering and translation of customer specifications, RFIs/RFQs, and platform constraints into clear product requirements (MRDs) and engineering-actionable decisions.
  • Represent Micron in ecosystem and standards forums (e.g., PCIe-SIG, OCP, JEDEC), building external credibility and shaping specifications relevant to Micron's product direction.
  • Coordinate engineering and qualification samples, qualification schedules, and escalation paths to keep customer platform timelines (EVT/DVT/PVT) on track.
  • Build durable, trust-based relationships with customer technical and program stakeholders, positioning Micron as a preferred long-term partner rather than a transactional supplier.
  • Align ASIC, firmware, and systems engineering teams around customer- and market-driven priorities, translating external requirements into technical tradeoff discussions and driving decisions when priorities conflict.
  • Partner with segment and sales leadership to shape account strategy, volume forecasts, and positioning, ensuring product plans reflect commercial priorities and commercial plans reflect technical reality.
  • Brief executive and cross-functional leadership on program status, risks, and strategic recommendations, serving as a clear, credible voice on complex technical and customer topics.
  • Work closely with NPI, Business Operations, and Technical Customer Management (TCM)/FAE teams to keep customer commitments, supply plans, and qualification milestones synchronized.
  • Mentor other product managers and technical program managers, scaling technical depth and customer-engagement practices across the broader product management organization.
  • Own end-to-end product requirements and technical strategy for one or more SSD product lines, from concept through qualification and volume ramp.
  • Drive technical tradeoff decisions across NAND, controller/ASIC, firmware, and system-level interfaces, balancing performance, cost, schedule, and customer commitments.
  • Identify and pursue innovation opportunities — including invention disclosures, new architecture approaches, and process or tooling improvements — that scale impact beyond a single program.
  • Leverage AI to enhance work efficiency and effectiveness.
