About The Position

Micron Technology is seeking a Principal Technical Product Manager to help shape its Data Center SSD portfolio. The role bridges customers, engineering, architecture, and business teams, translating market needs, industry standards, emerging technologies, and customer requirements into product strategies and requirements from concept through launch, qualification, and deployment. The position owns the end-to-end product requirements and technical strategy for one or more SSD product lines. It guides product decisions across NAND, controller/ASIC, firmware, and system-level interfaces, balancing performance, cost, schedule, and customer commitments. The role also represents Micron's roadmap and product direction to strategic hyperscale and OEM customers and in industry standards forums, while aligning internal teams and briefing leadership on program status, risks, and recommendations. This is a full-time position. Micron's estimated US base salary range is $171,000–$337,000 per year. Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses, and equity. The role includes benefits such as medical, dental, and vision plans, income-protection programs, paid family leave, paid time off, and paid holidays.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of experience in product management, systems/product engineering, or technical program management within the SSD, storage, or semiconductor industries.
  • Strong technical foundation in NAND flash, SSD controller/ASIC architecture, PCIe/NVMe protocols, and firmware/system-level interactions.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging directly with hyperscale or enterprise customers on technical requirements, qualification, and platform integration.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence outcomes without direct authority across engineering, sales, and executive stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adjust technical depth for audiences from silicon engineers to executive leadership and customer executives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Own end-to-end product requirements and technical strategy for one or more SSD product lines from concept through qualification and volume ramp.
  • Drive technical tradeoff decisions across NAND, controller/ASIC, firmware, and system-level interfaces while balancing performance, cost, schedule, and customer commitments.
  • Align ASIC, firmware, and systems engineering teams around customer- and market-driven priorities, and drive decisions when priorities conflict.
  • Partner with sales, segment leadership, NPI, Business Operations, and TCM/FAE teams on account strategy, volume forecasts, positioning, customer commitments, supply plans, and qualification milestones.
  • Ensure commercial plans reflect technical realities.
  • Brief executive and cross-functional leadership on program status, risks, and strategic recommendations.
