About The Position

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company with 185,000 employees, is seeking a Principal Specialist Materials Planning for its Raytheon Andover location. Raytheon, with over 100 years of experience, delivers solutions for defense and security. This role is within the Materials Planning and Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) team. The successful candidate will possess working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems in a manufacturing environment, utilize data-driven decision making for effective planning and execution, and have leadership experience. Responsibilities include executing day-to-day material availability requirements, creating and improving processes, and aligning purchased material to manufacturing value streams and operational plans through MRP. The position requires interfacing with Demand Planning, Production Control, Factory Operations, Program Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure efficient resource utilization for low volume, high mix demand profiles with unique material challenges. The role demands thoughtful, cross-functional collaboration, data analysis, fact-based influence, strong interpersonal skills, and fostering a safe, secure, compliant, and quality-focused working environment. U.S. citizenship is required for access to information under this program/contract.

Requirements

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Previous experience in Supply Chain, Operations Engineering or Finance
  • U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Nice To Haves

  • MRP knowledge, SAP PRISM experience preferred
  • Experience in Material and Inventory Control-type systems such as Kanban, SMI, Continuous Flow Manufacturing
  • Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Outlook, Skype, and Teams)
  • Self-starter who requires minimal supervision, works well with teammates and customers, and has a results-based mindset and proven track record of success
  • Knowledge of working across business areas and interface at all levels of organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate with various disciplines
  • Ability to analyze, prioritize, think creatively, is well-organized and works well under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring of important system health metrics and key performance indicators weekly and monthly
  • Provide support to team and leadership for reporting and analysis as required by our internal customers
