About The Position

At RTX, a global aerospace and defense company with 195,000 employees, the Raytheon Andover location is seeking a Principal Specialist Materials Planning for their Materials Planning and Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) team. This role requires a candidate with working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems in a manufacturing environment and the ability to use data-driven decision making for effective planning and execution. The successful candidate will manage a team of intermediate or experienced leads, overseeing day-to-day material availability requirements and process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include aligning purchased material with manufacturing value streams and operational plans through MRP, and interfacing with various departments such as Demand Planning, Production Control, Factory Operations, Program Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance. The goal is to ensure efficient resource utilization for low volume, high mix demand profiles, addressing unique material challenges and program priorities. The position demands strong cross-functional collaboration, data analysis, and interpersonal skills to influence and maintain organizational goals, while fostering a safe, secure, compliant, and quality-focused working environment. This is an onsite position in Andover, MA, and relocation assistance is not provided.

Requirements

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Previous experience in Supply Chain, Operations Engineering or Finance
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Nice To Haves

  • MRP knowledge, SAP PRISM experience preferred
  • Experience in Material and Inventory Control-type systems such as Kanban, SMI, Continuous Flow Manufacturing
  • Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Outlook, Skype, and Teams)
  • Self-starter who requires minimal supervision, works well with teammates and customers, and has a results-based mindset and proven track record of success
  • Knowledge of working across business areas and interface at all levels of organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate with various disciplines
  • Ability to analyze, prioritize, think creatively, is well-organized and works well under pressure
  • Experience leading and coaching a team

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring of important system health metrics and key performance indicators weekly and monthly
  • Provide support to team and leadership for reporting and analysis as required by our internal customers
