About The Position

As a Materials Planning Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability of critical materials to support manufacturing operations. This role involves leading and developing a team of Material Planners, utilizing advanced ERP/MRP systems for inventory optimization and supply chain efficiency. You will engage in cross-functional collaboration to maintain master data accuracy, manage supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your strategic planning and leadership will be crucial in supporting the company's mission to enable customers in making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer through scientific solutions.

Requirements

  • Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in materials planning, procurement, or supply chain roles within manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, ASCP, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing concepts, material requirements planning, and supply chain processes
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analytics tools
  • Experience leading and developing teams in a supply chain environment
  • Strong supplier relationship management and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proven track record of inventory optimization and cost reduction
  • Ability to analyze complex data
  • Experience with master data management and system integrity maintenance
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Collaborative approach with cross-functional teams
  • English language proficiency required

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Fields of Study: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Professional certifications preferred: APICS (CPIM/CSCP), ISM CPSM, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
