About The Position

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is hiring a Principal Software Engineer for a software development team building services to operate AI infrastructure at scale. The team transforms complex operational processes into reliable AI-driven services, automated workflows, and AI agents that help engineers assess GPU infrastructure health, investigate and resolve issues, and make informed decisions. Its work covers infrastructure lifecycle management, operational visibility, GPU infrastructure delivery, and AI-assisted automation, in partnership with operations, infrastructure, and engineering teams. In this hands-on individual contributor role, you will lead the design and delivery of software platforms for AI infrastructure. You will translate ambiguous problems into technical designs, build production services, guide engineering decisions across systems, and remain accountable for production performance. You will write and review code, own significant technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and lead work from problem definition through implementation, rollout, and production support. The role includes building reliable APIs, backend services, integrations, and tools; developing AI-assisted investigation, knowledge retrieval, and workflow execution capabilities with appropriate evaluation, access controls, and human oversight; and replacing recurring manual tasks with reusable automation. You will design for partial failures, retries, idempotency, auditability, observability, and safe recovery, while partnering with operational teams to improve reliability, resolution speed, and infrastructure availability. The stated U.S. hiring range is $114,600 to $234,600 per annum. The position may be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral. Oracle describes a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; disability and life insurance; flexible spending accounts; commuter and parking benefits; a 401(k) plan with company match; paid time off, holidays, sick leave, and parental leave; adoption assistance; an employee stock purchase plan; financial planning and group legal benefits; and voluntary insurance benefits. U.S.-based employees are required to complete identity verification involving biometric information, subject to accommodation following an individualized assessment.
