About The Position

Develops and maintains comprehensive test automation frameworks spanning unit, component, integration, and system testing using CI/CD pipelines. Builds web applications using Flask and Django, and deploys and maintains solutions in AWS or Azure cloud environments using DevOps practices and CI/CD workflows. Performs system design and messaging integration using event-driven architecture, functional programming paradigms, emerging technologies, and messaging frameworks such as Kafka and EMS. Applies business knowledge to translate divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes to project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management. The role contributes to architecture design and implementation, develops applications and subsystems for complex projects, and supports multiple divisional initiatives. It coordinates project plans, schedules, and assignments, helps ensure goals are met on time and within budget, advises on risk management and technical strategy, serves as a liaison to business units, and mentors junior team members. The role also performs complex technical and functional analysis and develops original technical solutions. The position requires either a bachelor's degree in a specified or closely related field and five years of relevant experience, or a master's degree in a specified or closely related field and three years of relevant experience. Required expertise includes Python backend systems and APIs, cloud platforms, data lakehouse architectures and engineering pipelines, data analysis and visualization, Oracle DB, Agile methodologies, and DevOps CI tools. Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position. The posting describes a phased transition to a full-time onsite working model, with current onsite expectations varying by role and location.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent), plus five years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer or in a closely related occupation designing, developing, and supporting Python backend systems for high-performance data storage and retrieval in AWS or Azure; alternatively, a master's degree in one of these fields (or foreign education equivalent) plus three years of such experience.
Demonstrated expertise designing and developing Python backend systems and APIs using modern frameworks, including FastAPI and Flask, and integrating Delta Lake architectures for scalable, reliable, high-performance data storage and retrieval across cloud platforms.
Demonstrated expertise designing and implementing distributed data lakehouse architectures and advanced data engineering pipelines using Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Snowflake, and cloud-native tools on AWS or Azure; enabling data movement workflows with Kafka; and applying data versioning best practices.
Demonstrated expertise performing analysis and developing applications with Python data libraries including Pandas and NumPy; visualizing data with matplotlib; conducting data analysis and visualization using Power BI or Tableau; and querying Oracle DB.
Demonstrated expertise applying Agile methodologies and deploying and providing technical support for applications using DevOps CI tools such as Git, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.

Develops original and creative technical solutions to ongoing development efforts.
