About The Position

Develops and maintains comprehensive test automation frameworks across unit, component, integration, and system testing using CI/CD pipelines. Builds web applications with Flask and Django, and deploys and maintains solutions in AWS or Azure using DevOps practices and CI/CD workflows. Performs system design and messaging integration using event-driven architecture, functional programming paradigms, emerging technologies, and messaging frameworks such as Kafka and EMS. Uses business knowledge to translate divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and evaluating alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes to development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management. The role also includes architecture, project planning and delivery, technical analysis, risk management, business liaison work, and mentoring.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent), plus five years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer or in a closely related occupation designing, developing, and supporting Python backend systems for high-performance data storage and retrieval in AWS or Azure; alternatively, a master’s degree in one of these fields (or foreign education equivalent) plus three years of such experience.
Demonstrated expertise designing and developing Python backend systems and APIs using modern frameworks, including FastAPI and Flask.
Demonstrated expertise integrating Delta Lake architectures for scalable, reliable, high-performance data storage and retrieval across cloud platforms.
Demonstrated expertise designing and implementing distributed data lakehouse architectures and advanced data engineering pipelines using Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Snowflake, and cloud-native tools on AWS or Azure.
Demonstrated expertise enabling data movement workflows using message-based frameworks such as Kafka and applying data versioning best practices.
Demonstrated expertise analyzing and developing applications with Python data libraries, including Pandas and NumPy.
Demonstrated expertise visualizing data with Python libraries such as matplotlib and using Power BI or Tableau for data analysis and visualization.
Demonstrated expertise querying Oracle DB.
Demonstrated expertise applying Agile methodologies and deploying and supporting applications using DevOps CI tools such as Git, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.

Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates for technology initiatives.
Advises senior management on technical strategy.
Mentors junior team members.
Performs independent, complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting divisional initiatives.
Develops original technical solutions for ongoing development efforts.
Develops and maintains test automation frameworks spanning unit, component, integration, and system testing.
