About The Position

CVS Health is seeking a highly experienced, innovative Principal Software Development Engineer to lead the architecture, design, development, delivery, and optimization of next-generation digital applications, including reporting and financial solutions. The role focuses on scalable, secure, high-performance solutions that leverage AI across AWS, Azure, and GCP to support healthcare and pharmacy experiences. This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role spanning front-end applications and backend services. The engineer will set architectural direction, influence engineering standards, and mentor teams while building secure, scalable, frontend and API-first solutions in a regulated environment. The position also involves defining and communicating technical vision, aligning IT strategy and product roadmaps with business needs, collaborating with stakeholders, using performance data to drive improvement, and leading high-performing teams. The position is full-time and includes a base salary range of $144,200 to $288,400, with eligibility for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program and an equity award target. Requirements

10+ years of progressive experience defining and driving full-stack software engineering, architecture, and delivery of cloud-native platforms for large-scale distributed systems and digital platforms.
5+ years of hands-on experience in senior, principal, or architect roles building cloud-native applications using technologies such as GCP, AWS, Azure, GKE, Google databases (BigQuery, Spanner, Bigtable), or other PaaS, with deep expertise in API-first and microservices architectures.
5+ years of experience with front-end development tools such as Angular, React, React TypeScript, or React JS.
5+ years of experience building backend functionality using Python, API Forge, REST APIs, or Java.
5+ years of experience working in Scrum iterative delivery and using Agile concepts such as sprint planning and CI/CD.
3+ years of hands-on experience integrating AI or GenAI capabilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
