About The Position

The Principal Software Development Engineer will drive innovative, enterprise-wide solution designs at the business-unit level for highly complex strategic initiatives. This is a high-impact role combining hands-on technical leadership with responsibility as a primary problem-solving contact. The role will lead proofs of concept and technology advancements, build and nurture a technology incubation function, and partner with business, engineering, data science, product management, and IT stakeholders to develop and launch solutions addressing business challenges, improving patient outcomes, and delivering value for CVS Health. The position also champions cloud enablement, DevSecOps, and cross-functional collaboration to shape the future of pharmacy benefits.

Requirements

10+ years of progressive experience designing and implementing scalable software architectures, including microservices-based solutions and enterprise-scale platforms.
Hands-on development expertise using Java, Python, and Angular, including coding, debugging, and performance tuning.
Experience with Enterprise RAG patterns, vector databases, embeddings, prompt engineering, AI orchestration, and AI application integration.
Deep understanding of domain-driven architecture and modeling and integrating complex business domains.
Expertise in cloud platforms and cloud-agnostic solutions, including designing and deploying portable applications across providers such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
Advanced proficiency with UI frameworks, micro frontends, web components, and portable application architecture.
Hands-on experience building, integrating, and scaling machine learning models and intelligent systems using AI/ML frameworks.
Solution engineering expertise in end-to-end system design and integration across diverse platforms.
Proficiency in DevSecOps practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, and vulnerability management.
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including scalable data management, performance, and data integrity.
Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams, driving technical strategy, and fostering innovation and high performance.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
